The sad demise of Commodore Qaisar Mahmud (R)
The eldest among the family of four, he was born on January 11, 1935 in Chakwal. He graduated from Government College Lahore in 1952 and then joined Pakistan Navy. He served as an engineer officer on a destroyer, PNS Shahjahan during the 1965 Indo-Pak war. He rose to the rank of commodore. He established the Navy's Engineering College Karachi and combined sailors training establishment. Then he has also served as a principal of the Navy Engineering College, Karachi. He served Pakistan Navy for 35 years.
After serving Pakistan Navy in various capacities, he retired as a Commodore. After his retirement he worked for various prestigious organizations and institutions on senior level positions. He joined Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) in 1993 and took charge of the CILT Rawalpindi-Islamabad Section in 1996 in the capacity of Honorary Secretary & Vice Chairman. He remained in the capacity of Vice Chairman & Honorary Secretary till June, 2010.
He has lead as the Chairman of Radio Buraq FM-104, a division of Interactive Group i.e. Interactive Communications (Pvt) Ltd in 2004-2006. He set up the section office in the premises of Interactive Communications (Pvt) Ltd in F-7/1 Islamabad.
He is the founder of KISMET, a free information Source & counsel for Women & Families receiving marriage proposals from USA & Canada.
Commodore Qaisar Mahmud (R) died on Friday October 4, 2013 and was buried in Lahore. My Allah rest his sole in Peace and reward him for his contributions to this country and its people.
